Do something good with “2 x Christmas” Donate parcels – together we send parcels of joy.
Swiss Post has been running the “2 x Christmas” charitable campaign since 1997, working together with the Swiss Red Cross (SRC), the broadcaster SRG SSR and retailer Coop. The campaign involves the collection of goods across Switzerland, which are then distributed to the needy in Switzerland, or the proceeds of the online parcels are used to buy food and essential items for people in Eastern Europe.
The campaign runs from 24 December 2018 until 11 January 2019.
- Non-perishable food such as rice, oil, tinned goods and pasta with a shelf life of at least six months
- Hygiene products and toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap
The Swiss Red Cross distributes all donations in kind to people in need in Switzerland, offering support to contact points for impoverished people, recipients of social benefits, emergency shelters, women’s refuges, nurseries, care homes, children’s homes and refugee centers.
The proceeds of the online parcels are used to support people in need in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan. The Red Cross uses these contributions to purchase foodstuffs and essential items locally.
With your parcel, you are helping people in need. These include old or sick people, single parents and their children as well as other underprivileged people.
