Only put food or personal hygiene products with a long shelf life in your parcel, for example:
Food
- Rice
- Tinned food/food in jars
- Breakfast items such as muesli, jam and chocolate spread
- Baby food
- Coffee
- Dried food such as soups, spices, corn, lentils, semolina, durum wheat, potato mix and dried tomatoes.
- Flour
- Pasta
Personal hygiene products
- Hygiene products made of paper and absorbent cotton such as period products, cotton wool, tissues and more
- Baby hygiene items: nappies, baby oil, baby wipes
The best before date of the products should be at least the end of June 2025. The goods are distributed in Switzerland by the Swiss Red Cross to people living in poverty and social institutions. Those living in poverty in Switzerland receive food and personal hygiene items. The proceeds from the online parcels go to people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (see box).
